Welcome Back! As we head back to school for the first semester at Northwestern High School, we have a few new faces to announce.

As last school year came to a close, our long-time Agriculture Teacher, Mr. Roger Berry, announced his retirement. NHS’s new Ag Teacher is Mrs. Need. Mrs. Need hails from Purdue University and brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to the department. She will head the school’s FFA program and oversee crop judging and all other Agriculture events at Northwestern. We are very excited to welcome Mrs. Need to Northwestern High School!

Another new face is in our Math Department. Mr. Rumschlag comes to us from a school on the southside of Indianapolis after graduating from Indiana University. Mr. Rumschlag’s extensive knowledge in Mathematics and passion for teaching will be a true asset to NHS.

Replacing a vacant position in our Spanish department is Mr. Abston. A graduate from Northwestern High School, Mr. Abston has taught different levels of Spanish from middle school to year 4. Mr. Abston is passionate about and dedicated to Northwestern and the Spanish Language.

Mr. Sipe is our new Guidance Counselor in the main office. Mr. Sipe has been a school counselor for twelve years and has experience in the private sector as well. Mr. Sipe is currently helping coach our Boy’s Football Team.

We welcome these new faces to our team at NHS, and we encourage you to reach out to them and engage in the educational process. As you enjoy band, football, volleyball, soccer, or cross country at Northwestern High School this Fall Semester, we encourage you to join in our Purple Pride and cheer on our Tigers! You may call me at anytime in the office or set up a time to meet. I look forward to the educational successes 2019-20 will bring us at Northwestern and to the many memories that will be made this year.
